Looking Back at My Aussie Experience No.2 -Gold Field Tour (Part 2)
On a sixth day, we had a cruise to learn about how wild sea animals live. We were very lucky because we saw some wild dolphins and seals there. I merely thought wild ones are a little bit different from the ones we see in an aquarium. I mean, wild ones seemed to have fun with their own real free life so they seemed happy. But, looking at animals fed by human beings, they seemed not happy. Why? I assume here is the big reason. The reason is that human beings rob fed animals of freedom. A zoo or an aquarium might be needed to make people entertained. However, is this what animals hope for? Were they born to be captured and make human beings happy? I strongly believe they weren't. They are born to live happily and to leave a high quality of genetic information to their offspring for prosperity. We never ever have a right to disturb it. Please try to think about it for a second. What can we do for animals...? On a seventh day, we did sightseeing in the city centre of Esperance. First we went to the beach to have fun with swimming, but the temperature of water was so low that we almost froze because of the heavy rainy we had on the day before. After that, it rained so we were forced to postpone doing sightsee, instead we went movie theatre. It made me so happy to 80% understand what actors said. I did felt how much I improved my English skills back then.
On eighth day, we headed to Kalgoorlie via the cities called Norseman and Kambalda. We had BBQ with the members of Rotary Club of Kalgoorlie. The electric power in this city completely stopped due to the heavy rainy, so we faced some bothersome things, for instance, we took a shower with so much cold water and it was very dark in the night in our lodging. I was ,of course still am, very thankful for my ordinary life that has everything I need. On a ninth day, we played the gamble that local people used to play before with using fake money. Also I knew about the medical service called "Flying Doctor". This is to provide Australian people with a high and rapid quality of medical service. According to a staff from this service, this plays a really important role in Australia because Australia is so vast that it takes a so long time to carry a patient to a hospital by an ambulance. In such a like that case, this quick service plays an important role. I personally think Japan should adopt this service because a lot of older people in Japan are living in a mountainous region where there are less good hospitals now. So, from the view of the geography of Japan, we should adopt this service and provide older people with a high medical quality.
On a final day in this tour, before going back to Perth from Kalgoorlie, we learned about the Gold Rush that actually was done in around this area. I did know that I could see other exchange students even though this tour was over, but the time when I had to say good bye to them was really sad... I was looking forward to seeing them in a next tour at that time. Thank you all who was involved in this tour of ours so that we could have a great time!
And thank you for reading this article! Hope you can imagine what my life in Australia was like! See you in a next article! Bye!!
