Looking Back at My Aussie Experience No.1 -Gold Field Tour (Part 1)

I'm thinking that I wanna start a new project, that is, to write about my going-abroad-to-study experience. As I told you in the last article I uploaded yesterday, I was in Australia for a year. I had a ton of experiences I wanna share with you guys there. The first topic I wanna share with you guys today is about participating in the tour which was planned by my exchange program called Gold Field Tour. In that tour, we headed down to the southern part in Perth, Western Australia and explored some cities located in there. It was for ten days and we received a lot of benefits from the other Rotary clubs during the tour. On a first day, I hadn't seen the other exchange students in a while so I was really happy to be able to take part in that tour. We stopped at Mundaring, York and Quairading. York, which has a lot of sophisticated buildings, was a really historical and beautiful city and I loved it! When we arrived at the final destination which was Quairading, the sun was about to set down. We had BBQ in Aussie way with the members of Rotary Club of Quairading. We were very satisfied with the dinner. THANK YOU FOR THE DINNER!! On a second day, we visited the vast farm controlled by one of the members of its club. It was so large beyond my description! I assume I never had been able to see such a vast area if I wouldn't have been there... The owner told me that hay they harvested was shipped to Japan. After that, we did sightseeing in the city center of Quairading. And, we participated in its weekly meeting and had a really good time with its members.
On a third day, before our heading to Corrigin from Quairading, we went see the Rabbit Proof Fence which was to protect white crops from rabbits around here. However, rabbits dug the hole to get through the fence so it was a big waste of money to set the fence. When we got to Corrigin which was that day's final destination, we participated in the meeting of Rotary Club of Corrigin. On a forth day, it was literally the most amazing, shocking and surprising day in this tour. It's because this day started with touching a snake. I actually HATE the reptiles, but I kept on trying to touch one while I was there. Every time I faced the chance of touching the reptiles, I hoped to overcome ones, but I couldn't after all. Anyway, this day was absolutely one of those days. Everyone was like, "Don't be scared. They never do anything unless you get panicked or scared." I did try to believe their words, but I was so freaked out that I almost fainted. I'll never ever forget this "AWESOME" day! We also went to one local primary school and I was given an opportunity that I could teach them Japanese. I was very amazed by their positive attitude toward trying to speak Japanese! I strongly thought (this is completely my personal opinion though) every language leaner has to be like them. This can be connected to the way I improved my English speaking skill, but no matter how hard the language you are leaning is, the best way to improve it is to tryna use it and make a mistake. Correct and Error. It's NOT embarrassing or shameful to make a mistake. Don't worry about it! Those who are learning a language never make fun of you making a mistake. Sorry for my being about to divert the topic! So basically, what I wanna tell you guys is; positive attitude toward learning language is really important. After that, we went to a pond to fish for shrimps for the dinner. We got a lot!! We had a dinner with the members of Rotary Club of Corrigin and ate shrimps we fished for, which was quite good!!
On a fifth day, we had a long journey to Esperance from Corrigin via the city called Hyden. As soon as we left Corrigin, we stopped at Wave Rock located in Hyden. We were very impressed with that I felt nature spent a so long time to create these beautiful sculptures. We arrived at Esperance at around 5pm. Esperance is the city which has an old-fashioned and sophisticated atmosphere. This city is one of my favorite cities. And luckily, there is a beautiful beach just in front of where we stayed at Esperace and I loved it so much af!
This is the first half article of Gold Field Tour and I'll upload the second half of it tomorrow! Thank you so much for reading!
See ya!
